Snow Day!! Yea for snow days!
We had a pretty eventful snow today. I woke up at 5am to watch for the school closings. They didn't list our district until 6:30! Then I went back to sleep until about 11ish... so nice! My friend Gwen had been trapped at DFW since Monday so we decided to pick her and take her to Target. We also picked up Jami Dawn on the way (found a Crate and Barrel Outlet during that adventure). So we picked up Gwen who had no luggage and took her to Target. Who knew someone could get so excited over a clean pair of socks?!? Then the four of us ate at La Madeline and it was delicious! They even had a fireplace that we sat by.
When we got home, I typed up my sub plans because I have a science training tomorrow. Then Jake and I beat Super Mario Galaxy on the Wii.
Now it is time to get ready for bed. Oh btw... Jake turned 24 on Monday!

Differences
I've been thinking this week about things that are different now that we live in TX.
- I have more shoes in the closet
- I enjoy new places to eat such as Chipotle and Chick a FilA
- I have less spare time
- I watch more TV
- We use less gasoline
- I go to Target more than I go to Wal-Mart
- Freddy no longer gets time outside
- I get up earlier (6:15!)
- I TIVO
- I teach (and get paid)!
That's all I can think of right now! Maybe I'll add more.
Weekend Update: We had a long weekend. Friday was a teacher work day (no kids!) and we were off on Monday. We finally ventured into Dallas for a suprise Birthday party. A lady I worked with invited us to uptown Dallas for the party at a neat Mexican restraunt called Matitos. The food was good and so was the atmosphere. We spent the next couple of days lounging around the apartment watching t.v. and playing the Wii. Overall a nice and relaxing weekend.

Happy Birthday Kasen!
Today is Kasen's 6th birthday! I can't believe he is six already! It is not possible.
In other news....
I have been sick since Saturday. I guess you could call it a cold. The pain started in my throat. On Monday night it moved to my chest. When I woke up this morning my whole body ached! I do feel a lot better today though.
On Monday, my throat hurt to bad to teach all day.... so... I typed everything on my computer and projected it on the screen. The kids loved it. Today (Wednesday) is the first day that I taught every subject using my voice. One girl said "I'm so glad you're talking to us today!" How funny!
I need to thank Jake for taking care of me.
We will be in on Saturday for Kasen's birthday party.

Jake and I on Christmas.

Jake and I on Christmas.
Our Christmas Break was pretty packed... lets see if I can remember it all!
We came down on the Sunday before Christmas and spent that time with the kids. The next day I went to my grandmas to learn how to make the famous noodles. Making noodles is like a week long proccess. That day was saddened by the news of Jake's grandmas passing away.
On Wednesday I took the kids up to Aunt Debbies for lunch. The food there is always amazing!
On Christmas morning we went to my mom's and let the kids open presents. My mom got me a new digital camera that is really neat.
Ok. Jake and I told each other we weren't giving each other presents. We had seven neices and nephews to buy for and few over gifts. Well.... Jake surprised me! He got a me an ipod nano that is so awesome! You can watch movies on it and play games. Thanks sweetie! Oh, if you're wondering if I got him something?? That answer is .... no... oops!
After mom's we drove down to Ardmore for Dad's side. We ate and watched the kids play.
On Christmas night we drove down to Broken bow for the funeral.
After the funeral we drove to Stratford for a Christmas Party and the Milligans. It was a lot of fun. We played dirty santa and partini. Someone needs to explain the rules of dirty santa to Jake because he is still a little confused. You don't trade gifts with your wife! Anyways, it was a fun night. It was nice to see Tim and Lan. Just like old times.
The next night I went to Norman with the girls to watch Marley and Me. Jake went to Buffalo Wild Wings with the night.
Yes, there is more! The next night we went to Chickasa (spelling?) for Jake's family's Christmas. There were 6 kids there. It was kinda crazy. We played dirty santa and Jake and I ended up with two almost identical digital clocks. When we left, we went to see the lights. It was nice just spending time with Jake.
On the next Tuesday I went shopping with my friend Paige. We left at 10a.m. and got back around 6 or 7p.m. That was a long day of shopping!
On New Year's eve we went to the annual party with our friends. We played one of my favorite games "Catchphrase." And Jake won the NCAA 08 football tournament for the second time in the row. You'll see him pictured above with the golden controller.
On Thursday we went home... I was pretty sad and still am... The next few months will be hard, so I pray they fly by.
